Four members of Helgin had the absolute pleasure of being part of Ice Ice Baby on Sunday, taking on Inverness City Roller Derby in the Nessie’s first home bout at Inverness Leisure in Bught Park.

Bruteyvicious, Melicious Intent, Night-Mair and Shannibal Lecter donned their skates, joining players from Granite City, Fair City and Mean City in this co-ed match.

It was a tough game, but the Inverness side took the victory, beating Ice Ice Baby, with 294 points on the board to the challenge team’s 216.

Melicious Intent said “It was great to be part of Inverness’ big day, and help them finally play their first home game. They’ve been looking forward to this day for 5 years and it didn’t disappoint!”

The Helgin skaters are looking forward to getting back on track as part of their own team, and hopefully it won’t be too long until we can see a full Inverness team vs a full Helgin team – the battle of the Highlands!
